STEAK NIGHT!

Saturday, September 5, 2009

Yep, my favorite night EVER! J makes KILLER steaks. This week, we had New Yorks. MMMMM. Easy for me, and tasty as can be! How could it NOT be my favorite? This particular meal also included asparagus and mushrooms, my two favorite veggies!

WHAT YOU NEED
FOR THE STEAK:
2 steaks- whatever kind you like, j and i usually do new york or tbone
Worcestershire sauce
2 gloves of garlic
FOR THE ASPARAGUS
1 bunch of asparagus
olive oil
red wine vinegar
salt and pepper
FOR THE MUSHROOMS
mushrooms
butter
olive oil

WHAT TO DO

Put both steaks into a gallon size ziplock bag, shake some Worcestershire sauce on them, add the garlic. Seal the bag and leave them on the counter and flip in about 10 to 15 minutes. Total marinade time is about 30 minutes. Heat your grill, put some veggie oil on the grate, and grill until you have your decided done-ness.... Yeah, i know bad english, but im tired, and you know how to grill a steak right?

Asparagus:
Break the ends off, put em in a zip lock, shake some olive oil and red wine vinegar in the bag, salt and pepper to taste, shake shake shake, shake your asparagus. marinate this about 5 minutes. The vinegar takes fast, and strong, so only do a splash and don't forget about it! We do these in a grilling basket, but if you don't have one, a frying pan on the grill ( or side burner) works just as well. These take about 10 or 15 minutes

Mushrooms:
No marinade needed for these, just melt some butter in a frying pan- j does these on his side burner- throw in the mushrooms and sauté. I top these and my asparagus with parmesan cheese. DELICIOUS!

Again, I have pictures, but Im lazy..... Look for em tomorrow!
